Additional Files Required: A photo of your own or you may use mine. This tutorial does not cover adding a new group to your EP.You will need to create a new Group in your "My Gallery" for your lighting effects.

Description: Learn how to use the illumination effects located in the Easy Palette to enhance your photos, to change colours if you choose, and to add your settings to the Easy Palette so they may be used again with just one click.
Terms: The photo used in this tutorial is copyrighted to me, you may use it for your project. What you create with this tutorial is yours to do with as you please.

We will start with a pretty enough photo, and end with the flower highligted to make it stand out.
Open your photo in PhotoImpact and duplicate (Control+D) then close original.

I decided to use a purple lighting to enhance the purple in flower.
Open your Easy Palette and open the Image Enhancements Gallery.
Click on Special Effects.
Scroll through until you see L33, then right click/Modify Properties and apply.

Now it's time to experiment and play.
My settings were
Exposure: 100
Ambiance: 17
Light: 88
Spread: 17
If you are using your own photo you will want to try different settings. You can click on the preview button at any time to see how your settings will appear. To go back and try more settings (and to continue with this tutorial) click on Continue.

Although I chose a purple light (L33) I'd like to change the colour just a tiny bit.
I right clicked on the box with purple and clicked on Corel Colour Picker, changed the Hex Code to D6CFE8 and clicked on OK.

Now that we have our lighting and colour adjusted to our liking, we are going to add them to our EasyPalette for future use. With one click you can have the same results on other pictures that need the same type of light.
Click on the Add button, give your light a name (I used mauve)
In the first drop down box, navigate to the gallery you have created for your lighting effects
Add the setting to a group of your choice

This is how your new lighting effect will look in your EP.
Although you see the photo you are using, just the light effect will be applied when double clicked.
