Much as I whine about the cold of winter, and Allan the heat in summer we both appreciate the beauty that each offers. We feel very fortunate having 4 seasons and can't imagine living anywhere that doesn't have them. For anyone who might not know, Canada actually has at least six distinct seasons: Tax, Hockey, More Hockey, Summer (also known as Construction), More Construction and "Isn't the Hockey Season Over by Now?!
I won a trip to Niagara Falls from work in February 2005. This photo was taken from the hotel room and shows the American side of the Falls. Huge chunks of ice and yet the water still moves, what an awesome sight!!!
I took this one out the front window of a bus on the way to work. Got a few strange looks from those who don't know me but those who do, including the bus driver just shook their heads and laughed! This photo doesn't do justice to the beauty of that mornings snow.
Snowstorm 2005. Photo taken looking out from our driveway.
Our first outing in the snow 2006.This photo was taken at Mohawk Park, here in Brantford.
January 2007, sun shining after freezing rain. The tree in our boulevard was just a glistening. One of my photography goals for next winter is to learn how to better caputre this type of picture.
